Today is International Nurse’s Day.

I would like to extend my gratitude and support to all those nurses I have crossed paths with over the last 36 years.

Each and everyone of you has taught each and every nurse you have come across a variety of life lessons alongside the job itself.

We have learned to be humble, be kind and do the mahi for the greater good of all.

Nurses have overcome adversity to continue to deliver care across the world.

Lets think about where nursing started such a long time ago, and fast forward to where we are now- holding together the health service with determination, pride and compassion.

Regardless of where you find yourselves tomorrow, if you can, take a moment to observe what the day means for you and reflect on how far we have come as a profession.

Do take care of yourselves and each other.
