Leadership has a big influence in the culture of our workforce. This popped up this week and it reminded me of when I was a student and a junior nurse experiencing some amazing senior nurses who have stuck in my mind after 36 years of nursing .

Many of us are now the people these junior nurses look to for leadership. But we too are under all sorts of different pressures in the current health service.

Taking care of ourselves impacts on how we relate to others and vice versa. Being self aware of how we treat others is really crucial and sometimes we lose sight of the impact we have on others around us.

Take time to check in with yourself.

Are you the leader our younger nurses can learn and grow from?

Just a thought for today …
