Thanks again for your patience while I was away. Prior to heading overseas I had a number of contacts from new clients and fortunately managed to catch up with most of you before I left, and since coming home.
September has been very busy with client sessions, assisting NPTP candidates preparing for mock panels, guiding them with portfolios, assisting candidates for Nursing Council NP panel preparation, reviewing portfolios and welcoming new clients across the motu as well as my own clinical work as a rural NP.
Travelling reminded me of working as a health professional. There are lots of parallels.
Some of these reminders included:
Map your journey.
When you are lost, ask.
When you are tired, rest
Plan to make your dreams come true.
Set some goals - make them realistic and don’t put undue pressure on yourself.
When time is short- prioritise the important things.
Be kind and smile. This makes you more approachable to others.
It’s fine to say you don’t know. Nobody knows everything along your journey.
Will 2025 be the year you reach your goals and make your dreams come true in your nursing career?
Professional Supervision is a good start!
